Understanding ADA Requirements

Special consideration must always be given to the accessibility of a religious facility and the ability of the elderly, the sick, the disabled, or other individuals with special needs to participate in the liturgical activity of the community with ease and grace.

At King Richard’s, our liturgical consultants design facilities which comply with the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design (2010 Standards), the Department of Justice’s revised regulations for Titles II and III of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA). Our planning process includes consultation with the parish and review of an accessibility inventory to ensure a careful analysis of potential or existing architectural barriers.
